School District 52 recognizes the important role that mental health and wellness play in education.  It is difficult to learn when a student is socially or emotionally overwhelmed.  It’s been decided that the district and Pam Groves, District Mental Health Literacy Specialist, will be gathering online resources for staff, families and students.  In these challenging times, it is vital to understand the role your thoughts, feelings and behaviours play in your overall well being.  Please check out this post for updates!

EASE(Everday Strategies for Educators):
Check out this program called EASE (Everyday Strategies for Educators).  It is a program aimed at understanding and teaching strategies to deal with anxiety for k-grade7.  They have now added a parent and caregiver section to help your child at home.

First Nations Health Authority:
To achieve a healthy lifestyle, the First Nations Health Authority has identified four key Wellness Streams: being active, eating healthy, nurture spirit and respect tobacco.  These Streams represent wellness areas that – if pursued – could greatly improve First Nations health and wellness. Setting goals in each of these Wellness Streams can have major impacts on your health.
Anxiety Canada:
This website has information, plans and strategies for adults, children and youth coping with anxiety.  It has a special section on dealing with anxiety and covid-19.
This is a non-profit outreach initiative providing information and resources about self-injury to those who self-injure, those who have recovered, and those who want to help.
About is a digital crisis line that provides free emotional and crisis support for youth under the age of 30.
It is run by the Victoria-based non-profit organization NEED2 Suicide Prevention, Education, and Support.
Online support is available through instant messaging (IM) and texts.
Text and IM services are available every night from 6pm to 12am PST across Canada. Youth can reach us through our website or by sending a text to 778-783-0177. Our goal is to create an anonymous, non-judgmental, and empathetic space for youth to explore challenging issues. Last year alone we provided support to over 6000 youth.
